PlayStation Plus March 2014 Free Games

March’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection has been confirmed, and once again the rumours were true. Let’s go over what’s coming on the 5th of March.

Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition (PS4)

Many of us are aware of Dead Nation after the PSN hacking incident of 2011, when PlayStation 3 owners were given Dead Nation for free along with a few other free games to choose from as an apology from Sony. Dead Nation is one I really enjoyed and I’m thrilled to see it coming to PlayStation 4. If you’re unfamiliar with the game, Dead Nation is a top-down shooter set during a zombie apocalypse where you have to get through each level shooting thousands of zombies to reach your goal. It’s a co-op game so you won’t be alone if you choose to play with a friend or online. What we get in the Apocalypse Edition is the full campaign and the ‘Road to Devastation’ expansion.

Tomb Raider (PS3)

The first entry for PlayStation 3′s Instant Game Collection is one of my top 3 favourites of 2013. The fantastic Tomb Raider reboot, which was released nearly a year ago now. I still find it quite strange considering the Definitive Edition was released only a month ago on PlayStation 4, but nevertheless it’s still a fantastic addition. The game goes through the events that led Lara to become the adventurer we’ve known since her debut 1996. It has a great story that will take plenty of time to complete if you’re looking for the collectibles in each area and even has a decent multiplayer mode. This is easily the best Tomb Raider game in the series, longtime fans, and fans of the Uncharted series should love it.

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons (PS3)

Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is the second PlayStation 3 game to be added to the Instant Game Collection. It’s a single player adventure game revolving around the interaction between the two brothers to solve puzzles and overcome obstacles. The pair go on a journey to collect water from the Tree of Life to save their dying father. The game was released in August last year and has received plenty of positive reviews being described as “Short but immensely satisfying, it’s Ico meets Limbo in Fable’s world.” We’ve had plenty of gems on PlayStation Plus, and it sounds like Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons is going to be another one.

PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD (PS Vita)

Lastly we have a remake of Pixeljunk Monsters coming to PlayStation Vita. PixelJunk Monsters Ultimate HD is a tower defense game which is brimming with content, including the Tiki Island levels and challenges from the original game, the Encore expansion featuring levels inspired by classic games such as Pac Man and Space Invaders, the third Island Tum Tum, the fourth Island Gati Gati from the Deluxe Edition and many extras including trap and gem towers and other monsters.

It’s another great month for PS Plus subscribers. If you haven’t already tagged or downloaded the following games, then make sure you do as they will be leaving the Instant Game Collection on 5th March.
